Pecan Pie

Prep Time Required: No time specified.
Cooking Time Required: No time specified.

Ingredients
Teaspoon Salt 1 unbaked Pie crust
112 Cup Pecan pieces 12 Teaspoon Vanilla
3 Eggs, slightly beaten 34 Cup Light brown sugar
1 Cup Corn syrup, light or dark 2 Tablespoon Butter or margarine, melted

Directions

In a large bowl beat eggs slightly then add sugar, syrup, butter, vanilla and salt. Mix well. Add pecans and mix well. Pour into pie crust and arrange 5 pecan halves in the shape of a 5 point star in the center of pie. Bake at 400 for 15 minutes then reduce temperature to 350 and bake about 30 minutes more or until a knife inserted near middle comes out clean. Be careful not to overbake or this pie will be hard at outer edges. If top is browning too fast, cover loosely with foil. When I only have dark brown sugar I use light corn syrup and when I have light brown sugar I use dark corn syrup because I like my pies to have a medium brown color.

Makes unspecified amount.
