1 Cup Flour |
1⁄2 Cup Sugar |
1 Egg, large |
2 Cup Cornmeal |
1 Teaspoon Salt |
2 Teaspoon Garlic Powder |
1⁄2 Teaspoon Black pepper |
2 Tablespoon Baking Powder |
16 Ounce can Corn, cream style |
1⁄3 Cup Onions, finely chopped |
1⁄2 Teaspoon Cayenne or red pepper |
1⁄3 Cup Onion tops, finely chopped |
Sift dry ingredients into a large bowl. Combine wet ingredients in another bowl. Mix ingredients in each bowl well then add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix well. Batter should form a medium soft dough. If batter does not appear to be stiff enough, a small amount of flour or cornmeal may be added. Refrigerate batter at least � hour. Drop by teaspoons in hot oil and fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towels before serving. This bread dish compliments any fried seafood.
